You know what, at first I thought this was becoming a tedious partisan tit for tat but Mother Jones was right to call him out - if Williams is going to be raked over the coals, every media personality should be. Let's find out who all the liars are and if we're left, at the end, with none standing then maybe that says a lot about what it takes to get to that position in the first place.

      Pretty much a given:

1 - a lot of on-air personalities we've heard from endlessly with Walter Mitty badges

2 - a lot of camera/sound and producers we've never heard of with true hair-raising combat stories

In particular, O'Reilly called out Williams vigorously. So it's only right that he should be excoriated for his own lies.

Tens of thousands of servicemen who were in combat struggle - and often fail - to live with its legacy. Fuck these big-mouthed attention-seeking fantasists.

It would be interesting, if someone had the time, to see what O'Reilly had to say about the Stolen Valor case a few years ago.

He's still never apologized to the U.S. military for claiming they were the perpetrators of The Malmedy Massacre, when U.S. soldiers were in fact the victims.

If Fox Entertainment can have a news channel, than Bill O'Reilly can have a fictional biographical memoir

Do you know what loophole Fox Entertainment actually uses to get away with it? They classify Fox News as "entertainment," rather than news, which means they're not subject to rules that pertain to news reporting.

I would have no problem with Fox News if they would simply modify their logo.

I can't wait for O'Reilly's show tomorrow night. Guttersnipe, apparatchik, far left zealots, political hit job, and "room service Eric" are hands down the best insults of the year. I think it's awesome how he's fighting to defend his integrity. Way better than Brian Williams looking like a frightened deer caught in the headlights, and having his daughter fight his battles for him. How come you guys didn't mention the NY Times article from 33 years ago that completely backs up his account of the riot?

All your article shows is that O'Reilly had a couple of enemies from CBS that were there, but weren't with him on that day or even have any footage from that day (but he did). He's getting his footage from the CBS archives and showing it tomorrow night. All this story is going to do, is get him higher ratings.

I remember participating in some anti-war protests in the months prior to the Iraq War. The Metro was PACKED and someone stepped on my FOOT. I had to wait almost 20 MINUTES to get a train on a Sunday. War is hell, and I'm still waiting for benefits from the VA to roll in.

You laugh, but there was a guy who injured his ankle(?) playing football while at military prep school and then sought government contracts under a service-disabled program. Tammy Duckworth (missing two legs in real combat) questioned him.

Seems like awfully peculiar timing for something like this to just appear! And I have no love for Bill O'Reilly, but that's kind of my opinion of the media as a whole. Fuck them all.

Honestly, that part makes me giggle. Since a lot of the time the tall tales make him out to be such a badass and then there's a bit of "holy Mary mother of god was I scared as a bunny!"

Didn't Al Franken warn us about this years and years ago? I think his book was about this... "Lies: And the Lying Liars Who Tell Them"
