    I had c-diff twice in a two month period. I was in the hospital, and spent my birthday rolling on and off a bedpan. The second time was not as severe - but I would have taken the frozen poop pills in a heartbeat, but they aren't available here. And yes, there are poop pills: Frozen Poop Pills at Mass General.

      I had it multiple times after a 2-year period where I had multiple surgeries and hospital stays and it damn near killed me.

      It took a very long time to get rid of it, and keep rid of it in my case.
      I just missed having to resort to the donation—I think after my final round of Vancomycin at a higher dose if it hadn't done it that was the next step.
      I'll have to be damn sick before I ever take another antibiotic.

      Ugh. The idea of EVER taking Vancomycin again makes me nauseous.

      I'm so glad you got rid of it. I've only been home from the hospital for 2 weeks. I worry....

      Honestly the only part about this that would stop me from signing up is the "coming in" part. I'm not sure I'd be able to go -not only outside of the comfort of my own home-but in a lab type environment? Too much pressure!

        I envision the office as just, like, having a lot of bathrooms where they have, like, cabinets full of these:

        I went to the urologist with a friend once (we're close…) and every exam room had a toilet that like, pulled out from under the sink somehow, because every single patient there had to give a urine sample every visit. It was kinda amazing.

        I think part of the issue is that this is, weirdly, still of a questionable legal status. Well, not that weirdly when you think about the fact that it's putting one person's poop in another person's butt for medical reasons.

        It's in a weird limbo in terms of how it's regulated — it's not yet an approved, mainstream treatment, despite the fact that it is miraculously effective in many, many cases — so there just isn't a lot of money out there to fund it.
