Yet another sad, tragic reminder that when it comes to wild animals, we get along with them until they change their mind.

Of course, it might not even be that sad or tragic. Hell, maybe this is how she wanted to go out. If so, good for her. If not, see the 'sad/tragic' referred to earlier.

Ah yes, the old "When I die, I'd like to be dragged off into the woods by bears, kicking and screaming, dog food pellets spilling from the linty pockets of my tattered overalls."

      A dignified choice.

You could just as easily be murdered if you were feeding people.

We assume she was violently mauled and eaten by a brown bear, the "thug" of the bear world, but it were a Polar Bear we'd be saying the bear had "mental health isssues."

She had no running water, no electricity and no air conditioning. She relied on a kerosene heater when it got cold, and used an outside toilet.

When she needed money, she would sell a piece of land. If she needed to go to Columbia or Manteo, she would walk to the end of her long driveway and a wait on the edge of U.S. 64 for a friend to pick her up.

I might be crazy, but that sounds very enticing to me.
