"At some point Kennedy struck Kane with a gun and shot her five times before Carter took the gun from him and shot her a few more times."

That is some frighteningly sociopathic behavior right there. I'm not a fan, but to some degree I understand why the family would ask for the death penalty in this situation. In cases like this, what makes it so horrifying to me, is that there really is no way to get justice. Whether these three are put to death or not it will never undo what they've done. The world will not get back the light that was snuffed out. How do you find an equal reaction to what was done? You just can't.

I'm definitely against the death penalty for young people (anyone really, but especially young people). Their brains aren't even fully formed yet. It doesn't remotely excuse their behavior, but we do owe them the opportunity to have a fully developed frontal lobe before condemning them to death.

I do agree with you. I was mainly referencing how I could understand from the family who is in deep shock and grieving, why they might ask for it.

"In fact, one of them kind of smiled at me so that was, so that was pretty hard to deal with. I don't see how he thought it was funny."

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST. Her poor mother.

I can't even form the right words to express how horrific this is.

I don't have a source (my source is my brain, I don't remember where I read shit!) but violence has been on a decline not only over past centuries, but throughout the 20th century. Particularly in regard to more recent decades, scientists were comparing adolescent intelligence, and they noted the parallel between the increased intelligence among teens over the decades and a decrease in violence. So if I had to guess, I'd just say we're hearing about it more.

There's been quite a few murders in KC here lately killing kids. I know at least one was a random shooting that ended up hitting and killing a baby. Y'all need to stop.

Thanks! As a resident of KC, I can tell you that your opinion will almost certainly have no discernible impact on the violence plaguing the east side of our city.

That you felt you could best illustrate those sentiments with a Lady GaGa gif tells me just about everything I need to know about you. Talking about babies getting shot is totally an appropriate time to bust out reaction gifs. The idiots on this site...I swear.

Would you have rather me not made any note of it to the outside world? Gifs aren't just jokes you know.

    Ce-Antonyo

What is the proper pronunciation for this name? My best guess is "See Antonio". Maybe "Say Antonio"?
