Who smells the worst? Who's there first in the morning? Who takes the last of the coffee but doesn't make a new pot?

Who embarrasses themselves the worst in company softball games and holiday parties?

In the spirit of fairness, you should leak to me the following Gawker secrets: How are the snacks there? Are there enough tissues available during winter?

The snacks are decent. The healthy stuff (fruit, nuts, fruit and nut mixes) is usually always available, while the bad stuff (Cheez-Its, pretzels) usually gets snapped up pretty instantly. I'd say we could use more bad stuff. I just went to get a salty snack now and nothing was there.

We also have Pop chips and bags of popcorn which rarely get eaten.

Does "fellowship" now just mean paid internship?

What a coincidence that Peter Sterne used to be an intern at CJR under someone who's currently the associate editor at boston.com. And the person running boston.com who also wrote the libelous article about a Harvard professor used to work at Gawker.

Lesson is, cross them, and they'll smear you with all their contacts in NYC.

So has the GAWKER Team extended themselves to the young whippersnapper who suddenly finds himself without a fellowship & seemingly besmirched amongst the inkstained wretches?

Eh, I think it's probably a lot less of "What is Buzzfeed hiding?" and more of we don't want to hire the idiot who gives scoops to our competitors. The journalism business has always run on scoops and exclusives. If you've got an employee who is handing out story ideas from editorial meetings to competitors, that doesn't bode well for their ability to get (and keep) exclusive content for the organization.

Don't blame Buzzfeed. I wouldn't hire him either.

Umm. He gave a juicy news scoop to a competing news organization. He's not a snitch, he just cost them money, which is way worse. In fact, that WGBH piece laments that the Globe should be reporting on this themselves.

He wasn't doing it in the name of national service, either. It was a big fuck you to an employer he'd already quit. Not nice.

In what universe does a job with Buzzfeed merit being called a "fellowship"? Is he finishing his degree as doctor of memeology?

uhm… i don't think any employer looks at a secretly recorded staff meeting released publicly as a good thing to have on your resume.
