So in other words, there's no allegations at all of 1)physical abuse or 2)sexual coercion here, right? Like... why am I reading this? Are we really at the point now where "bad boyfriend" is a worthy news story? OK, fine: I won't date Fred Armisen! Why is it news, exactly, if celebrities use their celebrity to sleep with a lot of women, and aren't particularly nice about it?

There's a kind of social justice progressivism that gets practiced around here that is totally indistinguishable from being an uptight conservative square. Lots of the commenters here think of themselves as these big lefties, but they're so judgmental about legal, consensual, adult romantic and sexual practice, they sound like Tipper Gore. It's so weird.

So you're saying that a gossip website should only cover skeezy men if they're physically abusive or rapists? *That* sounds conservative.

Y'all know part of the reason Jenny Slate got dropped from SNL and not Nasim Pedrad was because Fred was banging Nasim. Ask Kelly and if she doesn't know, ask Kelly to ask Gabe. There was a whole thing on Videogum about it.

Typically at SNL, if you drop "fuck" on air, you're not long for the show. The record is pretty clear on that, regardless of who is banging who backstage.

None of this sounds that shocking or unbelievable.

But I'll admit, I do enjoy when someone's shitty behavior is called out. I dated someone briefly who was awful and it's incredibly rewarding to see him do the same shit over and over to other women.

Takes some of the sting out of being a) stupid enough to fall for an asshole and b) deflates my innate fear that I make people behave like assholes somehow.

Umm or maybe he just picks the same sort of people that are dumb enough to fall for it...in which case why would you want to stay in the same league? I'd feel bad for you but then you said you enjoy seeing others fall prey to it which is fucked up.

Meh I don't need anyone to feel bad for me and I don't enjoy that other people fall prey to that ass. I do enjoy seeing assholes called out for being assholes.

I haven't dated that kind of sociopathic asshole before or since so I'm not in that 'league', if that's even is a thing.

Your reaction to what I wrote says a lot about you.

In response to the person who thinks this is "slut shaming," there's a way to be an ethical slut. Fred isn't. I know people in the Chicago music scene, and even back in his drummer days, his fav sex act was mind-fucking. I'm not sure what he gets out of all this pretendy-boyfriend stuff—maybe he's just a sadist. I contrast that with Nick Lowe, who had a regular girl in every major concert venue city. He was clear about the extent of the relationship, and at least his Ohio lady ( with whom I used to work) understood. That's being an ethical slut.

I've heard this about Armisen, from a couple of former SNL crew members.

But this is an exceptionally shitty post, even by Gawker standards. It's mostly a recitation of anonymous online comments, followed by admissions that anonymous online comments aren't really good evidence for anything, followed by more anonymous online comments.

Institutionally, Gawker places a lot of value in the information gleaned from anonymous comments. Such as yours.

This actually doesn't seem to be the case, broadly speaking. Which is why I said this was an *exceptionally* shitty post. Even by Gawker standards.

I work in the film industry and I have an ex-friend who f*cked him. Big dick. Bigger asshole. I believe he was still married to Moss when it happened and I'm sure it was no surprise to her. But then again, the D-list celebrity he f*cked was equally screwed up in the head with sociopathic tendencies, or rather, just plain a sociopath - so they deserved each other. The film industry is full of them. Imagine this - you realize in college you're a full blown sociopath. You can either be a serial killer or PLAY a serial killer. The joy these sociopath's get lying for a living and getting paid to do it is better than spending time in jail. But those were likely their choices. I've seen unbelievable sh*t, heard unbelievable lies that come out as the truth (and these crazy actors believe their own lies, they really are a talented bunch when it comes to lying....best lie? "I don't touch drugs".) and I've never, ever seen so many clinically sociopathic individuals than in this industry. The crew and writers are awesome...the actors? Um, scary sh*t.

I had a casual relationship with Fred for about a year, which ended when I started dating someone else more seriously. I stayed at his apartment about once a week, and we went out to dinner when our schedules matched up. He also flew me out to stay with him in LA a few times, and we talked regularly on FaceTime when he was shooting in Portland.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the guy. He was fun to hang out with, and is as intelligent and engaging as you'd expect. The rumors about his huge dick are true, and he spent a ton of time going down on me, which he clearly enjoyed.

I would guess that the anonymous comments accusing him of being a sociopath came from women who expected a certain degree of commitment. We never talked about being with exclusive with each other, and I assumed he was sleeping with other people (I definitely was).

When things became serious with someone I was dating (my current boyfriend, in fact) I let Fred know, and we parted ways very amicably. It was a pretty ideal situation, and I'm glad I got know him.

Jesus, how many women does this guy meet? Whether he's a sociopath or not, he is so unattractive and physically unappealing, I am surprised by all the women coming forward ...it's Cosbyesque.

This whole article says, "We're not saying any of this is true, but we're going to add some fuel to the fire because it's a slow news day in the office." If you have to constantly point out that nothing your writing can be verified, corroborated or confirmed what's the point?
