Mormon butthurt is amongst the holiest and most satisfying of all butthurts. That's right, you LDS trolls, make me work for it.

I've lived in Utah my entire life and never come across any polygamists in the state. I'm sure there are some here and there but you just don't come across them. They have to live in the far flung parts of AZ and NV because Utah, for pretty understandable reasons, is motivated to prosecute them. It's the only state that bans polygamy in the state constitution. Big Love was not a documentary and the Sister Wives clan are not even Mormon. But Utah being filled with polygamists is the only thing people think they know about Utah. I'm not Mormon or polygamist, but you could understand how dreary it is to have to constantly explain that polygamy isn't a thing in Utah. Yeah, they practiced it a hundred years ago so I guess they deserve the notoriety, but polygamy is still openly practiced by muslims in the US and no one automatically associates Dearborn, Michigan with polygamy.

I've been obsessed with tiny homes for nearly a decade. Yet, eight years ago, my husband and I built a 2,500 square foot house. For the two of us. Why? Why? Why? It's so much space for two people!

Making us even more stupid is the fact that we have been bitching about how the house is too big for the entire time we have lived here.

I think it's a uniquely American thing. I've heard of people talking about moving to Fresno or Houston or Denver and talk about the huge house they can buy for relatively cheap (compared to the Bay Area). I mean, if you have a huge family or lots of guests over all the time, I get that, but if it's just the two of you, why?

Also, when people look at these huge houses, they only consider the mortgage payment; rarely are the energy bill/water for landscape/other maintenance costs considered, I've seen...

Houses are status symbols for some people. The bigger, the better, the more people think they have money.

Also one of the lowest crime rates in America, as well as having 100mbps + Google fiber.

I always loved that name. When I was growing up there we had the highest rate of prescription pill abuse in the nation. You'd better be goddamn blissful if you're on that much vicodin.
