    I shook my head when Christina Aguilera was dubbed "a diva"; I cringed when Jennifer Lopez was (temporarily) called one; I laughed when there were attempts to get the label to stick to Britney Spears. I am an old. I still believe that to be called a diva one would need the artistic depth of say, Aretha Franklin. I am out of human emotions for this, though. Ariana Grande and the word diva cannot co-exist in my old feebled brain.

      Blame VH1 for the corruption of the term. In the late '90s, they started the "Divas" shows. The first one had legit divas - Aretha, Mariah, Celine - and also Gloria Estefan and Shania Twain. The next year's was a tribute to Diana Ross that included Mariah and Donna Summer.

      But then they just couldn't let go and subsequent concerts billed "Divas" like Nelly Furtado, Kid Rock (!?!?!), Meredith Brooks ("Special Diva Guitarist"), Jewel, Ashanti, Jessica Simpson, Miley Cyrus... You get the idea.

    I really don't understand the constant pony tale. I think she admitted that her hair was damaged from over-dying, but that was like a year ago. Wouldn't her hair have grown enough to put in extensions and try out another style? It didn't take Britney that long to get extensions and she shaved her whole head.

    Also hysterical that in her dyed hair instagram she has the right side of her face covered. She looks fine from both sides, dimple or no, what does she have against the right side of her face? Did the right side of her face kill her grandfather?

      Yeah, exactly what makes her an "idol"? A couple of catchy songs? Half-assed dancing? A predilection towards skirts that are smaller than your average dinner napkin? GOD YES THIS IS THE IDOL FOR ME, I WANT TO BE LIKE HER. Teens are so dumb. If your "idol" is basically someone who probably wouldn't sit with you in the cafeteria if you went to the same high school, why would you think money and fame and having a fucking LIFE COACH at the age of 20 or whatever would make them any more decent?

      well, no one is telling you to listen to her music! If you don’t like her why are you even talking about her. I mean, spending time reading comments about her...taking YOUR time to write about her...and even thinking about her...
