She has the dead-eyed earnestness of a woman who has been excessively praised since childhood.

It's too bad "HAVE SOME FAIRY DUST MOTHERFUCKER" most likely won't be in the broadcast.

She didn't get Peter Pan's address right. How could you forget, "Second STAR on the right, then straight on to morning?" Wah.

It's just so ... wooden. Part of the fun of life theatre is the over-doing of everything (partly necessary, so that people way back in the cheap seats can see the action and emotion). But they seem to be playing this too "made for television", too ... under. And the description "one-note singer" is a pretty good fit for Allison Williams. Everything. Is. The. Same. Even Walker is watered down. Want to see him at full-Walken strength? Check him out in "Pennies From Heaven". This ... not so much.

I turned it on out of curiosity and boredom for what I figured would only be a minute... and my sweet sleeping dog woke up, un-curled himself, and walked over and re-positioned himself in front of the TV to stare at it, as though he was actually watching this monstrosity. I couldn't keep it on for very long, though.

I said exactly this just now to my husband. They are not projecting or acting for the theater. Walken is neither hook like or menacing and way too bland to be the Villian plus he cant sing or dance and Allison Williams is definitely a one note singer.

Here. Watch this - it will make you feel better. And even if it doesn't, it's over in half the time of the horror show now airing live. Mary Martin, now and forever.

I really think I'm the type of person who should get a real kick out of this level of schadenfreude...but I can't. Can't watch. I'm too afraid of being embarrassed for everybody. I DO have a heart, it seems!

update: I had an extra glass of wine and suddenly watching this seemed like a better idea. As with so many tipsy decisions, I'll only know my true feelings about it tomorrow morning.

When my mother expressed interest in watching this crap-fest, I took the remote from her hand and set the TV to Food Network. Even the re-runs of cooking competition are better than this slop.

The Sound of Music: LIVE!!!! (which...no, it isn't...none of this is live) was a massive screw-up. Peter Pan: LIVE!!!! cannot possibly be any worse, but I'll be damned if I'm going to contribute to NBC doing any more. Because you know the next LIVE!!!! production they're going to do is Phantom of the Opera, and I will not stand to see people defecate on that.

I wish you'd do a long form post about this like in the fourfour days. I know that became too exhausting but the clips you found from obscure and bizarre documentaries and the Top Model recaps brought me so much joy. Oh how I miss the Crying Count!
