But did you see that the police finished him off? Look at the end of that video again. They did it in particularly brutal fashion too. RIP Barney!

Quick correction: The Peter Rabbit victim was not awarded $395 million. They sued for $395 million, however the article you linked to says they settled for an undisclosed amount.

Also, The Macy's parade accidents I understand. Large balloons floating in the air and high winds seem pretty tough to control. But the other incidents with the balloons being too tall and hitting light posts that came out halfway across the street, what the fuck is wrong with the planners of those parades? I would think the first question one would ask when planning a parade like this is, "Will the balloons fit on our route, and are there and obvious obstructions?" The Raggedy Anne one is almost forgivable. The Rudolph accident is a testament to stupidity.

And a correction to my post: it was The Cat in the Hat who injured the person, not Peter Rabbit.

Oh, come on. Rudolph's slow but sure execution was the best of the bunch.

My 1994 self is headbanging and raising a devil horn salute at the Barney tragedy.

That one was the best because it looked like Barney was terrorizing the crowd right before he got taken down by a skillful sniper shot.

I recall a local parade that featured a giant inflatable Starbucks cup. Not one block into the route, the thing got stuck under a skywalk overpass. Chaos erupted as its handlers and "helpful" spectators worked in useless harmony to squeeze it into a horizontal position. Same thing happened three blocks later under the next skywalk. It was a stunning example that people working together can do anything. Or fuck up anything.

Sometimes, the city has to bold-face the point: Lady, you shouldn't be living here.

And don't forget Spider Man losing his arm at last year's Macy's parade:

Really, this is all any of us ever wanted from Barney. He can return to his home planet now.
