Yep. There's a turd pretending to be a member of the human race further up posting a picture of the gun with the clear implication the the kid had it coming.

The cops couldn't have tried to secure the scene before shooting him? Couldn't have used a loud speaker to tell folks to leave the area (if there was anyone there anymore by the time they got there)? Couldn't have given him more than 2 seconds to comply with orders? I'm serious, I don't understand why these actions aren't being taken.

the story is that he reached for the toy after being told to raise his hands. they're saying he made a provocative move while not complying, not that they fired because he didn't comply with them.

The officer got out of the car and told the boy to put his hands up. The boy reached into his waistband, pulled out the gun and the rookie officer fired two shots, Tomba said.

seems like the cops were twitchy (one was a very fresh rookie)

Well if you imagine that magical negroes have superhuman senses and powers, 2 seconds should be 1.5 seconds more than a black super-creature would need to assess the situation and determine whether to put the gun down, fly into a feral rage, or chant witch doctor voodoo and disappear

I found this on Twitter, people talking about how Tamir Rice was troubled and raised wrong. Ok everyone! Justification to execute Tamir Rice, right here!

I've been trying to come up with something witty, but I can't.

So black kids who play with toy guns is indicative of a broken home. But white kids who play with toy guns...they're just kids! They're having fun!

Did you notice the comment where someone said that bad family structures is a "low income" thing? It's amazing to me that this narrative is tolerated by many. "Hey, having a bad family is not indicative of race! It's indicative of LOW INCOME!" Right! Because all middle, upper middle, and wealthy have PERFECT family structures.

There really isn't anything witty to say. This is really exhausting. Amazing how even a MORE innocent, younger, less physically dominant-appearing kid can't catch a break. Look at all these people saying he shouldn't carry a gun. OH REALLY? GOOD BECAUSE HE WASN'T. AND IT'S AN OPEN CARRY STATE. AND HE WASN'T. AND THE POLICE LIED.

If we deserve to pay for the crimes of our fathers, then I should be punished. I didn't see that comment you mention. My family is upper-middle class and our family structure is a fucking nightmare.

Why don't we all just do what we're told by police, and teach our children the same? I think that would lessen accidental shootings; it would lead to dialogue and discourse rather than accidental injuries and deaths in cases where the "suspect" poses no real harm. It could also lead to teaching/learning moments—for example, poor young Rice might have learned not to brandish his air soft gun, since it appears that it scares both citizens and police officers.

You know what else would lead to less accidental shootings? Cops not shooting people like it's target practice.

But surely you understand the cop's unenviable position here—the 911 call implied that there was a chance that the gun was real, and, unfortunately, Rice reached for something in his pants.

I have never been forced to rely on my instinct to decide whether or not to shoot a firearm at someone, and I hope I never am.

When I was about 13 me and a friend were having a BB gun fight in a field near our neighborhood (yeah, we were morons). Someone saw us an called the police. The police showed up, got out of their cars, talked to us, told us some neighbors were concerned and that we were being idiots and to go home. Anyone wanna guess my race?

There are a few 12 years old looking boys in my neighborhood who ride around on bikes with toy guns with the orange tips pulled off. They point them at cars and pedestrians. No one cares because they're white.

Again another situation where police immediately escalate to lethal force when a minority is involved. I don't even know what to say anymore to people who don't get the anger these types of situations cause. And this is in a time when crime is at 30 year lows, the only difference between the police brutality of the 70's and 80's is the proliferation of cameras everywhere, otherwise this shit would be swept under the rug without any pretense of "investigations" into these matters. This is fucking disgusting.

Honestly, they would probably get off just as easily if they had shot a white kid, unless his parent's had connections (and that scenario would help in the case of a black kid as well).

They just would probably not immediately shoot a white kid because they wouldn't automatically classify him as a threat.
