From Don Lemon's interview with Rev. Jesse Jackson:

"Reverend, part of your legacy is that you marched with Dr. King peacefully, non-violent protests," he said. "What has changed in our culture and our society that people result — resort to things that played out here last night in Ferguson?"

"You do know that when Dr. King was alive we had the Watts riots and the Newark riots and the Detroit riots and Chicago," Jackson responded, adding that "police action triggered those riots."

    SMH.

one big thing I can think of that has changed since when Dr.King was alive is that they fucking shot him!

Don Lemon triggers a visceral reaction in me- I want to either reflexively punch him or blow my nose to get the stink out. He is the complete opposite of what I was taught about journalism in college.

It's sad when it could be considered an improvement had Nancy Grace shown up.

You guys seem to have a real hard-on for CNN lately, and I'm not sure what's behind it. In point of fact, anchors and reporters in breaking news situations have to fill a lot of unscripted air-time. Sometimes they say things that are less than brilliant or insightful. But none of the things mentioned above is all that stupid or shameful. It's just live news-speak.

It's live cable-newsspeak; otherwise known as uninformed, willfully ignorant, lowest-common-denominator-pandering idiocy.

Deserves to be called out for shit reporting.

CNNs utter shittiness is simply the symptom of a much bigger disease in journalism: the myth of objectivity. When you stand for nothing filling up the airwaves when deeply polarizing political events unfold means that you will, by definition, have nothing of any value to say.

At least Fox and MSNBC are shilling for a political party. CNN's in a constant existential search for some mythical "objective center" that never existed and never will exists so what comes out is usually some mix of confusion and conventional wisdom platitudes.

And MSNBC's coverage last night was actually pretty good. They had a few live television whoopsies along the way, but they were interviewing community leaders who were out for the protests, they were showing buildings burning, they were showing scary cops, they were showing all sides. All while carrying a general tone of "this is a sad night," which I think most everyone with a soul can agree on, regardless of political preference.

It gets better! Lying sack of shit felon and former NYPD commissioner (also, former head of DHS nominee!) Bernard Kerik somehow got past the hall monitors at CNN this morning to tell us all about how the "savage" protestors are like "goblins at midnight":

There is literally no crime you can commit that will not garner you an invite to fart out your boneheaded wisdom on cable news if you are a connected white dude!

I think I just said "what the fuck" out loud at work at "goblins at midnight." Jesus Christ. What a fucking tool. Really surprised he wasn't nominated to head DHS.

Don Lemon is so much of a joke that from now on I will only call him by his animated caricature, Thomas Dubois.

Where's the clip of Van Jones shitting in Don Lemon's mouth and then Don Lemon turning that shit into his own shit and shitting it into Chris Cuomo's mouth and then him turning that shit into his own shit and shitting it all over the streets of Ferguson? That's must-see TV.
