"I had a hunch," he told the paper. "Either it was a grow house or there was a dead lady in there."

Mr. Oben, the disgraced former leader of the Neighborhood Watch program....

Does this make the house disaster-proof in the World According to Garp - "after this, nothing worse will happen" way?

Gary, you could have called the cops, then, for fuck's sake.

I live in Cape Coral and there's a house across the street that I've never seen anyone go into or come out of since I moved to the neighborhood in February. The grass keeps getting mowed so I assume it's some snowbird's winter home, but the crucifix on the front door might suggest "crazy Christian shut ins. " This story makes me think I should call the cops just to be safe...

There were NO OTHER OPTIONS. You're growing weed or you're dead.

Maybe she was the fertilizer of her grandson's Jake's grow operation? "Here. Have another bowl of Granny."

Wilson said he found the house is disrepair. Rusted gates covered all the windows and doors; he walked into the living room to find a bird cage and pile of feces. He found the remains in the master bedroom next to the bed.

"For $96,000, I expected this house to be in excellent condition, especially when nobody knew the owner was dead and rotting inside the house." — nobody, ever.

His hunch rate is better than Miss Cleo's.

When a house is in foreclosure the bank usually sends someone by the property monthly, to see if it occupied. If it isn't, they send in their "preservation" crew rekey and get interior photos. The preservation crew then tells them what is going on and if something needs immediate attention.

It is odd that the foreclosing bank did not send someone inside, to check it out. If they did send someone in, it is strange that they missed the body.
