You would think it would be cheaper to pay for some slut pills than a pregnancy.

THIS!! I never did understand what the hell the thinking was with that. birth control is WAY cheaper than a pregnancy and a baby.

Blind faith and being scared of Hell discourages any critical thinking from happening.

I'm still waiting for a halal or kosher employer to deny, say, cholesterol medication to employees who don't subscribe to their religion's diet constraints. It's the exact same argument: can't provide medical treatment to a lifestyle choice that goes against their religious beliefs. I really want to see this happen and have the courts eat their fucking crow.

I love this idea. Conservatives shout about religious freedom being infringed, but only when it applies to them. Either religious freedom applies to all religions, or it's not really freedom at all.

THIS. I get so irritated when people bitch about the "no prayer in public schools" thing. (Which, by the way, schools still totally do all the time because the country at large is not watching them. They led the whole convocation center in a Christian prayer at my sister's public high school graduation.) These people complaining about not being able to have prayers in school would probably be pretty upset if a Muslim kid wanted to get on the loud speaker and lead a prayer. Well, duh, idiots, that's one of the reasons we keep church and state separate. So that you aren't pushing your religion on others AND vice versa. Ugh.

So with this broad ruling can a company run by, say, a 7th Day Adventist (not singling them out, they're just one of the most known groups that does this) refuse to pay for someone's blood transfusion, which would in effect make nearly any surgical procedure way more expensive than it should be?

SDAs don't care about blood transfusions. That's Jehovah's witnesses. SDAs would be more likely to refuse to hire people who aren't vegetarian or teetotalers.

Ok I can't edit the post so I'll just concede to look like a fool. Spirit of the post and all I guess.

Wait, "woman" means "baby-making machine whose purpose is only fulfilled by producing as many babies as possible," right? Hence "pro-life is pro-woman"? Have I misunderstood something here?

THIS. Why exactly does my life have to be affected by other people's religions or religious choices?

The Hobby Lobby decision basically invalidates any attempt at enforcing Federal employment law (or any other type of Federal law) against "closely-held" businesses. The conservatives wanted to piss on Obama and the Affordable Care Act, and they wound up short-circuiting the entire Federal Government.

I know, "feature, not a bug".

How about we work on defining religious freedom. In that it means you can't make other people abide by the beliefs of your religion in any way shape or form. The end. Next they will try to ban women from using their money to purchase shit they don't approve of because "hey, you earned it working for me."
