    Here's a shot of what I see when I search my "personal" email for "Dodai@jezebel.com."

    After I left the site in late 2012, every so often I'd see a particularly cute picture of a baby animal and send it — picture only, no text — to her work email with the subject line IMPORTANT or VERY IMPORTANT. Note that Dodai once sent me a news story about a firefighter giving away a mini horse because she knows how important mini horses are to me.

    Dodai, we'll miss you so much. The site wouldn't be what it is without you. I feel so lucky that I got to work with you for as long as I did, and am so excited to see what you'll do at Fusion.

    Please send any and all videos of that Arrow guy working out. I will do the same.

    You were the first person who agreed to republish one of my many, many rants. It was honestly the first time I felt like people who weren't my friends and family found me entertaining and that my writing was good enough to stand next the work on this site.

    Dodai, I was a huge fan before I worked here and having you edit my work has been one of the most exciting things for me here. Thank you for everything and especially for dealing with me when I was a handful in the staff room.

    I will miss your kindness, your support, and our mutual love of Alex Minsky nude gifs. And thank you so much for giving me advice in the third week when I IMed you in a panic about the wording of a post. There's no crying in blogging!
