Come on, man. This is getting ridiculous. Quit with the half-assed, inconsistent enforcement of some arbitrary length and go full on 'Early 20th Century'—floor length dresses! Bathing suits with multiple, floor length layers! Hell, don't stop there! Make the girls wear full suits of armor! Again, multiple layers, of course....

I mean, if you're going to project some weird-ass, adult ideas based on assumption and neuroses, then stop punishing the kids and be honest about it.

I mean it's Utah. I'm surprised you could even dance there.

In all fairness members of the football team were attending the dance and you have to worry that one of these girls might have tricked them in to raping them and ruining some promising careers.

Trust me, in a few years, being denied entrance to the prom because they're dressed "immodestly" will earn huge cool points. Own it.

Immodest? I dunno. Maybe. But seriously... What the hell is that dress?

I dunno man, if I was 16 I think I'd love something poofy and covered in sparkles. That's the only age you can get away with that stuff. She must have felt like a fairy princess.

This article is totally biased toward the girls. It doesn't even mention the humiliation of the eleven boys made to stand against the opposite wall for rebuckling their knickerbockers below the knee.

          These kids. Ya got trouble...

With a capital T, that rhymes with P and stands for prostitute (it stands for prostitute!)

Maybe it was because that dress is hideous, and they didn't want to hurt her feelings?

"Immodest" is one of those very nebulous words that can literally mean anything.

            Like "sin" and "morals".
