I have a husky who does the same thing. Luckily he only weighs about 45 pounds and responds quickly to "get down".

My cattle dog is the same. "Mom, I need cuddles. NOW".

Happens usually when I'm either just waking up in the morning, or trying to get some work done on my laptop.

My dog likes to do this as soon as she hears me wake up in the morning. She only weighs fifteen pounds, so it's easy to just lift her and move her away.

My dog does this all the time, except she's only 50lbs and seems to find the perfect position to drive her elbow into my ribs every time. Its a love/hate moment.

Yes. My 70 lb. black lab loves to wake me up by laying on me and driving his elbows into my ribs, stomach, or groin.

OH GOD POINTY PUPPY ELBOWS!!! THE TRUEST PAIN!

actually the truest pain is when you are swimming and your dog wants to swim with you and scratches you with her nails in the water. somehow in the water, the pain is like 2394823904 times worse.

I was a minute into the cat video and thinking, "How on earth has a minute gone by with neither cat clawing their way to the top of that cushion thing?" Thanks for not disappointing me kitten!

eta - Dear Universe, please give us more nub-tailed kittens. Thx.

My first kitty that I can remember was named boots, and she was a bob-tailed breed of cat. Pretty, dark calico, medium-short hair. I don't remember her that well, other than the way she sat, very quiet and proper on the windowsill of our apartment in a very old house. Observing the world.

I had a Saint Bernard growing up, so this video speaks to me. It was like living with a giant, drooling teddy bear, and this makes me miss him so much.

Oh god, me too. I don't think she ever understood her size, she would just try to jump into your arms and sit on your lap. It's been over 9 years since she passed away and I still miss her so much. They really are a wonderful breed.

I'm sorry for your loss. A giant, drooling teddy bear sounds really amazing. Are they really as mushy love obsessed as they seem? What's their energy level like? I want big squishy drool dog.

I have the same problem with my little Westie, but she only weighs 15 pounds and is easily distracted by the word "cookie". We have a lot in common.

we have our version of this. we call it the puppy greeting ritual. it happens when i get home anytime i've been gone for more than an hour. it starts at the door where he bows and honks and does his little dance. then he runs into the bedroom and leaps on the bed for the requisite confusing mix of cuddles and wrestling. when that's over, he lays down and demands tummy rubs until he's satisfied, and only then can i resume my day.

One of my dogs is only 7 lbs., and the other is 13 lbs, but holy shit, if they were big enough to knock me over and hold me down until they're done expressing how much they missed me every time I come home, they'd do it in a heartbeat.

Sophie, the 7 pounder, actually managed to bite my nose the other day, because she was jumping up and excitedly yapping while I was bending over to pet her, and her mouth is so little that her teeth really scraped the skin. I don't know which one of us was more surprised!

That big cat has awesome coloring — like a mountain lion or something.

I had an aunt and uncle that bred St. Bernards. At any given time, they would have between 2 and 12 pups of varying ages. You think being tackled by a 150lb dog is fun, try being over run by a dozen 10lb balls of excitement that want nothing more than to knock you down, pull off your shoes and chew on your socks!

And I loved every minute of it.....Too bad it was in the late 70's-early 80's and there were no video recorders around.

My puppy would totally do this... if he could sit still for three seconds.
