I wish him a rapid recovery. However, in the meantime, as a Torontonian, I still can't muster anything less than sneering disdain for the man and his brother.

Dare I say, I am more pissed off at the damper this might put on generally shitting on the guy in all everyday conversations.

Why the fuck is the oncologist holding a press conference to announce a plan of treatment? Jesus Christ.

Because we don't believe word that the brothers Ford say at this point.

Any actual news, thats real and true and honest has to be delivered by someone that is above reproach. In this case, his oncologist.

        Short version: politics.

The only things I know about Rob Ford is from info gleaned from Gawker and MSM since the whole crack thing came to light.

Has he always acted so bombastically, or is that relatively recent behavior?

I know brain tumors can cause radical behavior. Can cancer in other parts of the body have a similar effect?

No, he's always been an obnoxious, entitled bully.

Now he's just an entitled, obnoxious bully with cancer.

Hell, the tumour is the nicest thing about the guy.

He's always been this awful (and is, in fact, considerably worse than what just makes the headlines).

'The tumor, described as "a one-kilo brick of cocaine shoved up his ass", is expected to be entirely absorbed into his body over a matter of weeks.'

No one should have to suffer as this man will, like so many others, suffer. But is this really that surprising an outcome? Something had to give. The human body can only take so much abuse before it breaks down. This guy seemed to live in overdrive for years.
