Now if only they would apply the same ethics to the kids who make their shoes.

I guess presumed innocence has no relevance in the corporate world. It seems like it's quickly becoming a fairy tale.

Presumed innocence is a legal concept, not a marketing one.

Literally true. No relevance whatsoever. Why do people have so much trouble separating the government from corporations and private citizens?

You know, I know there are issues with Nike's manufacturing practices. But I am also really glad they're doing this. The number of apologists I have seen frequenting articles about Peterson is staggering and really, really upsetting. Peterson didn't just "get carried away" - he beat his 4 year old child savagely enough to leave deep cuts, marks, and welts all over him.

It's not fucking ok to hit children. Ever.

word! I just lost a friend of almost 20 years over his refusal to believe that Adrian was in the wrong. Benefit of the doubt? hmm, does that come in a cream that can be applied to the wounds on his child's legs?

My older half siblings endured terrible punishment from a step father they had. They were physically and mentally scarred for life. My one brother has epilepsy from head injuries, and the other brother was so emotionally wounded that he led a life filled with addiction, and now is HIV positive. These things matter, they change people's lives. Calling what this man did "discipline" is like calling what a child molestor does "affection."

Radisson hotels pulled out of Vikings sponsorship over this yesterday too. I think that's why they've resuspended him. Why yes, I do live in the Twin Cities, and no, apparently there is NOTHING else going on in the world, judging by the Vikes coverage.

Nike in no way condones child abuse or domestic violence of any kind... That's why our child labor force operates in 3rd world countries with looser regulations where the children are essentially property. Als since they kids aren't white, and don't have famous parents, no one cares that they get treated worse than Work Horses in 1875

Losing advertising money is the only way the NFL will listen. I know this is different but hopefully it is enough to get the NFL to pay attention a bit.
