    Meanwhile, police murdered another young black man in my hometown a few days ago. He picked up an air gun that THEY SELL AT THE WALMART WHERE HE WAS KILLED and was shot for it. Walmart won't release the security footage.

    FWIW, there have been maybe 2 murders in my hometown in a decade. Holy hell.

      Where is the fucking NRA on this shit? They want people* to be able to pack arsenals while walking down the street, but a cop unloads on someone carrying an air gun and they're say nothing?

      *Oh, sorry. Obviously we should take that to mean WHITE people. The NRA wants WHITE people to carry guns.

      FWIW, I have seen multiple tweets saying that there was no "kill the police" chant.

      The fact the police left Michael Brown's body lying on the street, uncovered, is a horrifying message of disrespect. I cannot fathom why that protocol wasn't followed.

      It will be interesting to hear more witness reports as they emerge. I can't tell from this report if the witnesses are disputing that there was a scuffle at all between the officer and Brown (not that shooting would be an appropriate resolution to that even if the police report is accurate to that end), though they seem pretty united in the fact that he was not in any way a threat when the shots were fired.
