I am kind of annoyed at that tweet trying to out him. If he is gay or bi, it's really not a subject I feel comfy discussing... when he hasn't started that dialogue himself. See: Ellen Page discussed being gay and opened a dialogue to be educational. James Franco has not come out nor opened this dialogue so it's a bit exploitative to try and make money through articles and ads off of a man who might be trying to stay in the closet or at the very least keep his sexual life to himself. I would want that respect as a woman and a bisexual.

I’m pretty sure he’s opened this dialogue.

When? How? What, specifically, did he say to open the dialogue?

The two are also sharing an apartment in Brooklyn this summer.

To me, this implies a finite arrangement that isn't within the realm of things boyfriends do. I mean, maybe the sentence could go on: "...and then they'll return to L.A., and keep living together like lovers do." But I don't think so.

Then again, why would a man as wealthy as Franco need a roommate at all?

The whole thing is very peek-a-boo coy, a display meant to generate items like this very post. I don't think Franco is gay. He has taken so many risks with his career that he's clearly not going for straight-laced leading-man type. I think he likes to provoke, and maybe even likes a lot of what gay culture affords (such as freedom to do whatever the fuck, if you are privileged enough to live in a gay-accepting major metropolitan area).

Shit, if I weren't gay, I'd be jealous and want to emulate it too.

Some people just like having roommates. I live with three other women, and some people might consider that a nightmare, but I like having those people around. *shrug*

Weird how much people are focusing on that part! And not this one: “so close that describing them merely as friends would be a disservice.”

But it also says they've been long time friends and collaborators. "Closers than friends" could also mean "like brothers." I mean, if they are together that's fine too, but I'm not sure why that would be the automatic conclusion. Maybe I'm just reading into it, but this had a kind of "ha ha James Franco is gay" vibe, which I thought was odd. (Granted, mocking James Franco is a noble and worthy pursuit, just not for this)

The whole NYT "gay panic" thing is a good point though, but it just would never have been my first assumption. Perhaps I am too naive for the internet!

Is Scott Haze gay? I read this Out interview with him last night that suspiciously doesn't address the question directly. http://www.out.com/entertainment/…

No, he isn't. That line is a lie.

I've never heard his name until right now.

All I know about him so far is that he appears to be the offspring of Willem Dafoe and a Dead Muskrat.

Im genuinely not sure, but, are you a gossip columnist? Scott is a good friend of mine, Ive been around James, but dont know him. Scott's girlfriend, Elissa, is also a really good friend of mine. The connection is all based on Playhouse West acting school in north hollywood. There is def no shenanigans going on between Scott and James. Scott is starring in a play James is directing at The Rattlestick theater this summer, hence, the living situation. Sorry to bust this up, but, as I friend, Ive gotta let Scott know about this. I dont know that he'll care, but, you should take it down anyways.
