Dreft used to be the go-to detergent for washing baby clothes, in particular (like in the 60s-70s, at least). I'm not sure if it was purely marketing or there was a grain of truth to its reputation (too lazy to Google right now), but I know it was traditionally used to wash baby clothes and cloth diapers and anything you wanted washed thoroughly but without leaving anything on the clothes that could be an irritant. Source: This is from my memory banks as a kid in the 70s with a little brother still in cloth diapers and my mom's reasoning for her preference for this product.

      Dreft is still hugely popular.

HamNo, you can be forgiven for being a lonely troll but if you want to write about pop culture, you have to at least be in touch with the masses.

Yep - I vaguely remember the ads. It's detergent with no major chemicals so it was safe for babies.
