    Hangouts has better emojis, so you should focus on that instead. It is default Android messaging and what the upgraded GChat is. Strictly focusing on Gmail emoji won't help! But, perhaps this confusion proves a product mgmt problem.

      I hated the look and feel of Hangout so much that I immediately switched back to old Gchat. Because of that the info here about Hangout emoji comes from Max Read so please address all complaints to him.
