    Well, yes and no that's the cause. There are several wildfires here in BC at the moment (my friends had to be evacuated) and each and every one of them was caused by humans. The biggest, most dangerous one started by the side of the road: that's typically where fires start from cigarette butts that have been flicked out the window.

      That's what home owners insurance is for, mainly, fire. Those that live in flood plains get special insurance because of where they live. What I'm saying is this is not that surprising given the dryer times and the areas that developed for homes nowadays. I like trees and foliage- it's that, sadly, that can't be readily replaced- especially larger trees. It really changes the look and feel of a place.
