Lily Allen has the maturity of a 14-year-old. It makes it hard to listen to her music, between this and the Azalea Banks twitter feud and... everything.

Yep, resorting to racist dumbassery is exactly what 14-year-olds do when they get into online arguments. And accuse others of living in their mom's basements.

What? No comments on the sampling of baby goats at the end?

Considering that this song and "Hard Out Here" were on the same album, this can not be a response to chat room discussion over her "Hard Out Here" video unless Lily Allen knew that it was OH SHIT SHE KNEW ALL ALONG AND THIS WAS PART OF HER PLAN!

So, she's making fun of everyone who called her previous video racist?

Either that, or she's making fun of bloggers /commenters in general who use personal attacks on pop stars like her, Miley Cyrus, etc. for their 'artistic expression'. If that's it, fine. But if this is her response to the racism criticism, she needs to grow up and realize that it's not about her and her 'art', it's about criticizing a racist sexist stereotype that she perpetuated, even if it was unintentional. Which I believe it was, but still.

The lyrics sound more focused on music critic snobs who act like everything they don't like is universally terrible.

I was initially on Lily Allen's side because I thought her "Hard Out Here" video was critiquing artists like Miley Cyrus who reduced African American women to objects in their performances. But since she has steadfastly refused to say that, and is preferring to take the simplistic and critical-thinking-free stance of "haters gonna hate," I am done trying to give her the benefit of the doubt.

The BBC did a fly-on-the-wall documentary a few years ago, when she was taking time out of singing.

It's her and her sister setting up their own dress rental store....

...where you can hire a dress for £400 a night. They saw this as a totally reasonable business plan, because the dresses were "worth" £6000.

You may be shocked to learn it didn't end well.

She came across as totally, utterly insane, profoundly unpleasant, and bafflingly disconnected from reality, regardless of what the songs written for her try to project.

She's apparently still pissed the internet mocked her for it.

Since Lily Allen is a talentless hack with no good ideas, here's a band with a lady lead singer that *does* have good ideas and talent.

          "keyboard warrior that can't spell"

"I don't like girls much, they're kinda silly,
unless, of course, they wanna play with my willie."

I have some problems with recent things Lily has done, but I think with lines like this, this song is talking about a specific kind of arsehole blogger... Not the actual intelligent & critical-thinking types, but the pseudo-intelligent dudes that write purely to demean others they don't like & want to seem better than, especially women.

As someone who gets a lot of those comments from people (who don't like me or what I make/do online because I don't share the exact same opinions as them, or, more often, because I'm a woman) purely trying to make themselves look smarter than me, this song resonates with me. It's less "haters gonna hate!!!!!!" and more "oh ffs not you again, here comes the shitty, non-constructive 'criticism' (read: misogyny or some other fun crap) written really badly".

However if she is using it to paint all critics with the same brush and say they're all like that, then yeah... that's annoying & stupid.

I can't see this any other way. URL Badman is pretty much the exact same phrase as Internet Tough Guy (tm).

Yeah, it's basically "Internet Tough Guy" in Lily Allen / Urban London speak (or Laandaaaaaaaan Taaaaaan speak) and she's used it to also make a clever play-on-words thing in the song (you are 'el' bad man). I think as a Londoner/UK resident I understood that, unlike the people jumping to "OMG SHE CAN'T TAKE CRITICISM WHEN IT'S ON THE INTERNET. WHAT A LOSER."

I mean, Lily has her faults, but she also wrote "F**k You" which makes me so happy and if you've never heard it omg please go listen to it now, especially if you hate war-mongering homophobes. Let's keep the criticism fair & help her learn & grow, not dismiss her. She's not a lost cause or anything.
