We are also having a federal cabinet byelection in Ontario today. Just a couple seats open, not a widespread thing. Some Ford supporters showed up at one voting station and wondered why they weren't able to vote for Ford. If that doesn't explain the mouthbreathing, knuckledragging, fuckwits that are his base, I don't know what does.

Now the Rob Ford redemption tour begins. He already said he was a changed man, had a "come to Jesus moment", and even compared himself to our Lord while he suffered media scrutiny. That was all before the videos of him drunk, smoking crack, saying he wanted to fuck another mayoral candidate, and proclaiming himself "the most racist guy around."

He won't change. He's an addict, and the fact that he spent 30 days at a resort (yes a resort, not a rehab) will not change that. He'll self-immolate many times before October 27th.

At this point it's not his fault, he's an addict and all round shitty person just doing what comes naturally. The city of Toronto is enabling him to destroy himself and the city, and those 25% of voters are holding the rest of the city hostage.

I will say, it was quieter without him. I'll miss the peace, but I feel it won't be long before we're rid of him for good.

If they're doing a 'press release' with only pre-approved attendees and answering no questions, why doesn't Rob Ford and his people just release a video of his statement? Gives the same information but doesn't make it blatantly obvious that they're trying to avoid tough questions.
