    Ryan Frederick48 seconds it took me to run from my balcony bar that we just closed to the balcony to see this girl laid out in the middle of the street. 8 minutes for the first cop to show up after having 2 civilians doing continuous CPR on her. 9 minutes the cop try's to chase the perp but is so out of shape decides to turn around and come back to the scene and finally call it in. 11 minutes 2 other cops show up in cars. Now there's one girl on the side of our building with one of our door guys (Sargent in the marine core) holding this girls jaw in his hand because her teeth are blown out his natural reaction. 22 minutes the first EMT SUV shows up 36 minutes for the first ambulance and by 39 minutes we finally have 3 ambulances there 48 minutes everything gets taped off and by 70 minutes it's taped off 2 blocks both ways in bourbon and 1 way north south. I personally watched this girl get zipped in a body bag and lifted away. A scene guarded by many but I watched on my balcony. I dare somebody to test my sayings.

      The lobby which represents gun fetishists and gun fetishism has taken the tact of blaming the "mainstream media" for "sensationalizing" gun violence. CNN, who apparently have no balls, give in to this line of bullshit by burying a mass shooting in a well-known neighborhood in a major US city under a nearly week-old story (which incidentally does not involve guns).

    Holy crap. My wife and I were just there (well, not on Bourbon - give us some credit). Our hotel was two streets away on Chartres. We had an early flight, and the cab picked us up at 4:30 am. Amazingly, everything seemed quiet and normal where we were. Crazy.

      Evs, I love hitting up Bourbon St. for a few hours when I visit NOLA. Lafitte's is one of the coolest bars I've ever been in. However, I would and do indeed exit that chaotic mess of a street before the wee "shoot all humans then probably mug them" hours of the night.
