Don't you have to be able to parallel park to get a license?

That's what I thought. When I took my test in Oregon, they certainly required it.

When I was a wee zygote getting my drivers test back in 1995, no.

One of my greatest fears in life is that somebody is secretly filming me when I'm parallel parking. Thanks for making me extra paranoid guys!

My old apartment had a restaurant on the ground floor with floor-to-ceiling glass and outdoor seating. I am an excellent parker but even I would get really nervous and paranoid trying to park there because it felt like everyone was watching.

Find an empty parking lot and practice. Use old boxes or cones or something to mark off the area you designate as a space. You'll be doing yourself and your fellow motorists a huge favor. Free boost to the ego, too!

How lucky for these bros that they were born with the ability to parallel park. The rest of us plebes had to learn, with mixed results.

      But this is different.

This isn't about not knowing how to parallel park. This looks like a basic failure to understand how steering works.

You know what? No. No pity at all. This is the same person who drives 50 mph in the left lane of the freeway with their turn signal on. This is the same person who won't make a right hand turn against a red light even if there is no one else on the road. This is a person who goes 15 mph under the speed limit until the light turns yellow. No, no fucking pity at all.

And texts while fucking driving. If you text while you drive, I hope you crash into a pole and die. Fuck texting drivers.

In a perfect world this driver would have their licence revoked and this video used as drivers's education example of bad parking.

that's exactly what i was thinking. hopefully(?), she was drunk. but, regardless, if drunk or just a pitiful driver, she needs to be on the passenger side from here on out.

      that was funny though...

In a perfect world she would've nailed the parking the first time.

Even worse is that the length of a smart car is the same width as a regular car. That person could have just pulled up nose first to the curb and parked as if they were parking in a regular spot. That was really the whole point of the design of a smart car.

Well, there could have easily been 2 cars there when they parked. Doesn't detract from the fact that this lady is a total dingus.

I actually once got so agitated watching a student try over and over to parallel park her midsized sedan in a spot half again the size of her car, that I tapped on the window and offered to do it for her. Maybe it's that I'm a short pale chick and therefore unthreatening, but she immediately took me up on it, I parked the car in two turns, and we both left the situation content.

People always ask me to parallel park their cars! I'm a really good driver but I get nervous because I don't know the feel of their cars or how long the front or back is. I've never had a problem but still, I hate being put on the spot.

I will happily park for anyone who asks. Years of driving cars, trucks, trucks with trailers, other cars, more cars, cars with and without power steering, etc. have made me a good judge of distances driving backwards! :)

Used to sit outside in the historic downtown of the town where I lived, drink beer at a certain bar, and watch tourists attempt to parallel park. Even better than this video, the curbs were horse-and-buggy height and drivers would trap their passengers after finally managing to park.

She has zero situational awareness. She can't track where the curb is as she's moving the car.
