How long is the term of service for mayor of Toronto? Is Ford allowed to run again? If he is, would any Torontasians (ahaha, sorry, I know it's Torontillians) weigh in on what his chances of being re-elected are? I would assume slim-to-none, but I'm just a dumb Yank.

Next election is November 2014. Mayoral campaign has already started since everyone with a nose could smell Ford's blood in the water. At the moment, he is unlikely to win re-election, but he was still in contention just before he went into rehab, so I'm hesitant to rule him out, as much as I'd like too.

It's shocking he was elected in the first place. A lot of this (the drinking, the racism, the total disregard for anything like integrity in the way his office ran) was well documented prior to his first election. He rode to victory in part because two left-leaning candidates split the vote, but more because of years of animosity between the 'Downtown' and the 'burbs. He promised to stick it to the city core, and swore there were tons of cuts just waiting to be made (despite constant reports - even ones he requested - that said many key services are severely underfunded). Thank God he became an international laughing stock, otherwise we'd probably be stuck with him for another four years, just because the suburbs want to punish the downtown core.

Next municipal election is this fall, and his approval ratings have been steadily going down, so far; he was at 23% this past May. They started relatively high though.

So he's coming back June 30th in the afternoon and then presumably taking Canada Day (July 1st) off. Thank the good lord we only have a few more months of this clown.

I think the better thing to note about the timing is that it's the day after Pride ends.

I don't predict longevity for this guy. We've just seen this story too many times to believe it ends any way other than poorly.

I'm sure he'll return in a state of perfect grace, with a new depth of self-reflection, humility, and most gentle temperance.

What about Rob Ford's wife's loins? Will they be correctly eaten once again?
