Just further proof that the modern American conservative movement is not really interested in effective solutions or results.

Yeah, the more egregious part of this isn't even the racism, most American conservatives are racist against Muslims to some degree or another, it's the way that they just completely ignored the extremely valid "so, how do you win this war?" question in favor of just picking on the woman.

It's like conservative humour, which is nothing to them unless it punches down. If it's a choice between bullying someone or getting results, they'll always choose the former.

To be fair, the panelist is not comparing all Muslims to Nazis. Rather, She's comparing the radical Jihadists to Nazis. She's saying there were peaceful Germans, and violent Nazis, just as there are peaceful Muslims and a violent sect. I don't agree at all with the woman on the panel, but you really are sensationalizing a bit in this part.

What do you mean by “a violent sect”?

Also, it’s pretty clear that Gabriel’s co-panelist, Frank Gaffney, believes that Muslims, even peaceful ones, pose some kind of existential yet hidden threat to Western civilization.

I mean, Gaffney off-handedly refers to “that other piece I talked about in connection with Huma Abedin”—a reference to an insane conspiracy theory alleging that Huma Abedin, a long-time aide to Hillary Clinton, is a covert agent for the Muslim Brotherhood.

      Come the fuck on.

Quran (4:95) - "Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-"

Even Allah does not think much of peaceful Muslims...

He didn't like peaceful Jews/Christians either...

Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

Gabriel might be one of the most hilariously stupid of the far-right Islamophobes. She uses her "credentials" as a collaborationist with the occupiers of South Lebanon alongside blatantly wrong historical realities to dupe stupid old racists. Part of me wants to believe that she is all some elaborate hoax as so much of her backstory is patently false or repugnant to any sane individual but then there is shit like this video above.

What occupiers of south Lebenon? Ooooh lemme guess ...those annoying Israelis? Lolllzzz

I'm currently living in "south Lebenon" where 3 teenagers were abducted off the street on their way home from school. While we value human life and our children more than our "peaceful" neighbours they're out celebrating by handing out candies and starting a social media campaign with children holding up 3 fingers. Peace loving indeed!! But wow, what BRAVERY this young woman has shown! Bravo!

Hahahaa. You are talking about those three settlers in the occupied West Bank... one of whom is a fucking paratrooper. Fuck the settlers in Palestine. They are part of settlements that every single country on this planet except Israel views as illegal. Israel kidnaps far more Palestinian youth so #bringbackourboys when Israel returns the children they kidnap.

Also, Lebanon is not Palestine unless we are using some very old Ottoman maps on various political subdivisions of that empire. Israel invaded South Lebanon and set up a brutal puppet government through the SLA. They later occupied Lebanon up to Beirut in a brutal war that even Reagan criticized.

I know someone who works for the Heritage Foundation and, despite my willingness to discuss my politics with almost anyone, I actively avoid talking to her about them. What a whacked out group of people.

What's the interviewing process for them? "Hello, and welcome to the Heritage Foundation. In order to assess your candidacy for this job, we need to ask you the most important question first. How important is Jesus in your life? Do you own a gun? Do you think Obama is a Kenyan Socialist Muslim?"

Don't kid yourself. They're a business, that brings in a lot of money. They have an audience that eats this stuff up and they use it to fundraise. I'm not saying that they're actually liberal capitalists, but they definitely work their crowd.

Brigitte Gabriel has probably been shaped a lot by her time living in the Middle East during times of war, not that that excuses her behavior AT ALL, but I thought it's worth mentioning. She's not your typical 'Merican who hates Muslims simply because they are unfamiliar with them and their culture.

I will eat Pharell's hat if Brigitte Gabriel's Zionist wet dream of a backstory is even 50% true, past the broad strokes. Maybe if she were more inclined to honesty in, you know, any of the other crap she says I'd feel differently.

Oh no, I totally agree with you. I decided to leave out any specific details of her life because I definitely have my doubts as well. I was more just making a contrast between her and your typical white, redkneck-esque racist because I think there are some major differences. She's clearly still pathetic though.

The people "at fault" for the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks are the ones who attacked the embassy. Nice to know there's still someone in charge.
