Someone who lives in Peoria, IL. I mean it's probably not like folks have SO many competing social or cultural events to attend.

See: a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy with a gun. After he shot his ex-wife and her boyfriend.

As long as we are talking about law enforcement officers, sure, I'm in favor of arming all good guys.

On a serious note, I'm not even in favor of that. Many modernized countries don't arm all of their cops, only in situations that would call for them. I can only imagine that unnecessary shootings of unarmed civilians would dramatically decrease...of course, for this to work, we need to disarm all the nuts out there too.

Notice how the "good guy with a gun" here was a trained professional and not Cletus and his cock-extension.

That salient fact will be lost on all the gun nuts, no doubt.

Glad the agent was present (and capable), however. I do wonder if the ex-husband's plan was suicide or death by cop anyway.

Too bad everyone in the bar wasn't armed, then they could have all had a wild-west style shootout - the surveillance video would have been awesome!

If God blesses us with more firepower, then one day, we can all have the attitude of 'another day, another school [reunion] shooting'.

100 People Watch as Man Kills Ex-Wife, New Boyfriend at School Reunion

Weird phrasing. What would be the alternative for bystanders witnessing a shooting? I'd imagine they were pretty terrified.

I thought the same thing. Are we expected to throw ourselves in the path of all bullets, now?

Agreed...I was expecting to read something horrific about how some dude beat two people to death while 100 people held up their cell phones.

Fox News will likely point out that since this did not occur on campus and all those involved had graduated a decade and a half earlier, this does not count as a "real school shooting" and therefore is not evidence of a need for gun control.

In a follow up story, they will also take an in depth look at how the highly trained FBI agent who shot a killed Jason Moore is proof that if your crazy uncle Bernie had a concealed 9 mm with an extend clip he would have been able to stop 9/11.

They don't consider real school shootings to be evidence of a need for gun control either.

I think it's for the better (and not only due to the tragic imagery). Just imagine that the first 50+ comments would be complains because the person didn't film in landscape mode.

The NRA's plan is genius: flood us with enough guns that larger and more frequent gun killings become so common that they become nothing more than a passing blip on the news, and we become so accustomed to it that we equate it with unavoidable life hazards like crossing the street or driving a car.

Good guy with a gun, but still too late. Take the guns out of this scenario, and it's just a drunk guy outside a bar yelling and throwing eggs at the window.
