    Sounds like the work of Apocephalus Borealis. It's a small fly that lays it's eggs in the abdomen of bees. As the eggs hatch the bees understandably go a bit nutty. Symptoms include flying at night towards lights and crawling around on the ground in a seemingly confused state before they die.
