Finding peace takes courage. Few leaders have enough courage to do what it takes to attain peace.

It will be tough- standing up to a radicalized constituency that's backed by profiteering special interests and hatemongering media requires an adamantium spine few have...oh! you mean in the Middle East. Sorry, carry on...

It also takes details, which is where these talks always break down.

Burners gotta burn with their hate and bigotry. That's why they're burners.

If we knew who they were, they would be sanctioned for such behavior, in public.

Being a religious bigot is generally frowned upon, although there are a lot of people of otherwise progressive perspectives, who seem to think that it's acceptable to exhibit this obvious bigotry toward unfavored religious perspectives. It is unacceptable to exhibit overt anti Semitic, anti Muslim or anti Atheistic prejudice, while it is acceptable to exhibit overt anti Catholic, anti Mormon, or anti Southern Baptist prejudice.

It's an interesting form of cognitive dissonance.

The fighting between Palestinian and Israeli boggles my mind. They essentially believe in the same thing and yet fight.

The same could be said for any religious war in the entire history of human civilization. But yes, you're right.

Sadly, you are right. Judaism and Islam simply come to my mind right now as I read through to Qur'an for myself rather than just believe people who never read it that it is a book of evil. If nobody had told me, I would have assumed it was a different version of the Old Testament thus far.

Peres and Abbas are political leaders, not religious leaders.

I'll offer mine, too. They'll have to sit on an uncomfortable futon and eat leftovers, but I do enjoy helping.

That's fine, but did the current Pope have anything to do with that? It'd be like bringing up Nazi-Stern Gang cooperation to argue that the the IDI is Nazi.

i guess that the Pope performing an exorcism on the Israeli and Palestinian reps. is inevitable since nothing else seems to be able to get them to compromise. Next up, Putin stations troops on Israel's border in case the Russian nationals need protection (That may actually work)

And cue the "The Pope is the Anti-Christ"! nut jobs.

Years ago, King Juan Carlos of Spain offered to mediate between the Palestinians and the Israelis. I remember hearing some guy on TV go on about how since one one Juan Carlos's hereditary titles is "King of Jerusalem" coupled with his offer to mediate could mean he is the Anti Christ.

The Pope is a perennial favourite for the Anti Christ conspiracy theorists, so this should add a little fuel to the fire.
