HamNo... When are you going to do a piece about how shitty it is to work for major wireless companies? You know, since they should be regulated like a utility and lack union representation. Something associated with one of the companies that maybe, perhaps, possibly use red as one of their main colors? I can see it on the horizon....

Target is going to be the next Caldor. Anybody remember Caldor, or Bradlee's or Zayre's? Yeah, take note of that Target.

oh wow, Caldor and Bradlee's those are some stores I haven't heard since my childhood in the 90s. I would add Ames to that list though that always reminded me more of K-Mart (do those still exist?)

There are still K-Marts around. NYC has two of them and some Targets as well. Yet for whatever reason still keeps Wal-Mart out.

I always thought the Target brand was "ever so slightly more expensive than Walmart, but not nearly as depressing to go inside of."

Which works for me. I have a Target card, and do pretty much all of my shopping there - from TVs to beer to clothing. 5% off, after all. plus, going to one store instead of 4 is something that just makes sense to me.

I haven't really noticed any problems aside from the fact that it seems as of late they have some supply issues with the grocery section. The data breach didn't effect me, and quite frankly, it seems like one company a year I do business with suffers a data breach - Target's just happened to be bigger.

I forgive Target all its trespasses based solely on the strength of the Archer Farms Macaroni & Cheese-flavored waffle-cut potato chips.

Except that Target has actual sales (and Cartwheel, and mobile coupons, and web coupons) - their sale items regularly beat Walmart's "Every Day Low Prices" and "Rollbacks"

I don't know if they've upgraded since, but I worked at Target part time in 2011-2012. We had these clunky portable scanners at our store that had like 3 different UIs merged into one for searching for items.

Fast forward to 2013-now, I'm at Office Depot (saved money on the red polo, woo-hoo I guess) and the portable scanners are now attached to Ipods that can also check out and become quite easy to use after you spend a week with it.

So yeah, I can understand what this guy means to an extent.

And don't forget Target's ultra-rigid 90 day return policy! Got a wedding gift that someone purchased two months before your wedding and you tried to return after your honeymoon with the original receipt? Sorry....Target will tell you to go pound salt.

My wife and I ended up sitting on about $1000 worth of unreturnable wedding gifts from Target after making the mistake of registering there.

Eff Target. It is all smoke and mirrors.

So you're complaining that you couldn't return/exchange a gift 90 days after your wedding date? Sorry about your luck, but it sounds like you and your spouse waited around too long. How long did it take you to send out the thank you notes?

It seems like Gawker has a real axe to grind with Target. As a shopper, I've had no issues with the retailer. I actually pretty much love target. I think they have a great selection of groceries and other merchandise and I shop there at least twice a week.

I've worked in retail before. It sucks. It's not something that I would enjoy. Lots of jobs suck. That's just the way it is.
