      Tommy Craggs is the expert on being annoyed this, but one oddity of Gawker—an oddity particularly embodied by John Cook, but carried on by Max Read—is that many members of the staff literally do Laugh Out Loud, in the otherwise hushed GAWKCO newsroom. Usually in response to something that has been silently typed into group chat. So there is a burst of not-quite-synchronous chortling that breaks the stillness.
