You know that thing that women do instinctively when presented with stuff like this where we clutch the neckline of our shirt together? I just damn near strangled myself before I realized what I was doing. I'm tempted to never leave my apartment again.

Okay ya'll know those are pretty common songs right... they weren't written by anyone in this frat, and they didn't even originate from Pi Tau. I've heard them probably thousand times by different groups from different campuses around the country.

This is why anything good that might happen to individuals in the Greek system will never change the fact that at it's core, it's a shitty, misogynistic and downright dangerous institution.

I don't think that generalization is true or fair. My sorority (and some of the ones I had friends in) was actually pretty empowering.

Greek or not, whenever any social groups form there is always going to be one group full of degenerates or deviants. They have to go somewhere.

But that's exactly what I'm saying: I have friends who've had amazing experiences in sororities. None of their anecdotal experiences change the fact that there is an inherently biased structure of the Greek system, that it's sexist and often dangerous for women. Why don't we have Habitat for Humanity groups getting called out for this shit? Not all social groups are created equal.

Remember folks, there's no such thing as "rape culture"! Everyone knows rape is a horrible crime, what do you mean it's normalized in our society?!

Jeezus Fucking A Christ......I am an alumni of this Fraternity. Please recognize that this is a national organization and that the culture of each chapter differs greatly from school to school. So don't view this chapter's idiocy as being indicative of the entire organization. I belong to several Facebook alumni groups for PKT and the response from alumni is pretty universal in its condemnation and disgust at this behavior and mindset.

First, let me give a slow clap for the headline.

I think most people know that fraternities differ in their cultures from campus to campus if they've been exposed to them... But the vast majority still throw parties to try and get the Freshmen girls drunk. The university I went to actually had frats kill someone in alcohol-related hazing incidents about every four years, and after the third guy dies they just won't stand for that (they disbanded the entire 'Greek' system after that.)

What do universities lose by not having frats? Yes, they all do some kind of 'service' usually to justify their existence. Why can't people make their own friends in college instead?

Jesus fucking Christ, every time I thought I had surely reached the bottom of the barrel I scrolled down a little further and read the next sentence. Disbanding is too good for these little creeps, they should probably be forced to notify their new neighbors when they move to a new house like sex offenders.

No kidding! I REALLY think they should have to disclose this to people they date in the future. I would much rather know if my prospective partner participated in this horror than a lot of other things that require notification, eeeek.

My understanding is that we've failed to prop up their flagging sense of manhood. Also weirdly enough, we seem to be responsible for male on male prison rape because we say the word "rape" where applicable and the ancient practice of circumcision common to the Abrahamic religions for reasons that truly mystify me.

Since we're responsible for all the rest of the heinous shit men do to one another as well as the heinous shit they do to women, no doubt we're responsible for the existence of fraternities, too.
