Heh, someone once told me Gawker didn't have an anti-gun stance. Riiiight. The guy is obviously an idiot, but why has this been posted on Gawker? The only reason would be because it once again paints gun owners in a bad light. How often does Gawker post positive articles about gun owners? I've never seen one on here.

And, of course, the headline of labeling him "Second Amendment Man", which is just implying that he was some outspoken advocate for the Second Amendment or something, which is not mentioned anywhere in the article. This is such a completely unremarkable incident that the only reason it is on Gawker is because it shows a gun owner being an idiot, which fits with their agenda.

Start your own site about pro gun stories. Hard to believe no one has ever had that notion before though.

The biggest problem I have with quite a few people who have firearms is that they have no clue as to the proper place and time to display, how to properly store, or the proper time to use their weapons. Learning the responsibilities of ownership and the ramifications of illegal usage should be the first lesson in a mandatory class for anyone wanting to carry.

Yeah, my biggest complaint about gun laws is the lack of required education regarding the use of said fire-arm.

I can't buy real fireworks unless I get a pyro-license which includes mandatory training. However I can buy a gun by filing paperwork and handing over cash.

One "might kill someone if improperly used" the other is made to kill things.

It's also great when the first strawman a GRA throws out there is that cars cause as many deaths as guns on a yearly basis but no one wants to take cars away. They never really mention the fact that it's usually a lot easier to legally acquire and use a gun than it is a car. Apples to apples.

Guns might make one braver, but they don't make one any wiser.

It's an epidemic - stupid CC permit holders committing all this crime. They are definitely the problem.

Oh wait, they aren't? At all? Because CC permit holders commit fewer crimes as a population (including violent crimes) than the general population? So I should actually feel more comfortable sitting next to a CC permit holder than, say, I should sitting next to Adam?

I'll take the average "Second Amendment Man" over Adam any day.

How do you get through life knowing you could at any moment be sitting next to someone not armed and so at risk??

You're so missing the point. Just because you have a CC permit doesn't mean you're armed, and you certainly don't need a CC permit to be armed. Statistically, it's not even a contest between "average citizen" and "average CC permit holder". The former is more likely to be a violent criminal. Period. So I'd rather sit next to the CC permit holder (gun or not) than Adam or (presumably) you (gun or not).

I don't see how you and Adam can get through life knowing that there are hundreds of millions of firearms in U.S. private hands and at any moment one of those gun owner boogeymen could be sitting next to you, probably plotting to murder children. Gives me chills just thinking about all those guns and the inbreeders that own them.

What is the point of having a gun if you can't use it to threaten people when you're angry?

Unless they think guns are being threatened; you should hear them then.

The Founding Fathers clearly envisioned a society where citizens pointed loaded weapons at everyone else all the time. You know, for freedom.
