Yeah. Screw Gawker for linking to that obscure New York Times website. Only the hippest cats troll around nytimes.com and now Gawker's gone and thrown a spotlight on it. I bet their servers will crash because of the traffic. What jagoffs.

People who have heckled or approve of heckling at a comedy or music show: If you have the balls, show yourselves and defend your indefensible tomfoolery.

I saw Chappelle on the Funny or Die tour when it stopped in Massachusetts. He spent the first 15 minutes of his set destroying the state of Connecticut. I'm pretty sure he was referring to just the side that loves the Giants and the Yankees.

      It was fucking hilarious.

I heard audio from the Mass. show. Was the whole set dope, from your perspective?

Entire show was dope. He was up there for almost an hour. Seemed like he stayed until he ran out of jokes. Even giving us one about his short time in Boston at the very end.

I'm guessing the Radio City show will be mostly be the material he tested on tour plus some New York / New Jersey specific shit.

Might be worth hitting the refresh button a few thousand times on Friday.

I've met Dave Chappelle a couple time of times and he seems like a genuinely nice person. One time I had a group of high schoolers with me and he was so nice with them even though they started acting crazy and asking questions about Chappelle Show over and over again.

Yeah, he lives in Dayton (where I do) and he comes into the bar I tend at occasionally. He is an effortlessly funny and cool dude.

Neal Brennan says that Chappelle literally gets the same questions wherever he goes. Imagine being asked the same question over and over again everyday of your life: Why did you quit your show? Sounds maddening.

Hecklers, what don't you understand about this genre? Why must there always be trolls to ruin everything? Why can't we have nice things?!?!???

This article perfectly illustrates the NYC attitude that "if your not doing it in NY then you're not doing anything at all."

Chappelle has been out doing comedy shows for like 5 or 6 years or so- in that time he's done at least 4 show in San Francisco alone.

Chappelle has "been back" and doing shows for a pretty long time now...

Back? I know he likes to spend time out here in SF, but I can't even count the number of "surprise" shows he's done in town the past few years.

And perhaps it depends on his mood, but he seems to have come to grips with the hecklers a lot better. When I saw him he openly acknowledged taking great enjoyment in watching the crowd slowly turn against itself off hecklers and dumbasses, and he pretty much encouraged it. By the time broads were screaming about how it's their birthday and the general grumbling became palpable, he was just standing up there grinning like a motherfucker.

As much as I like Dave Chappelle's comedy and the Chappelle show (Those days of quoting his lines in middle school/high school will never be forgotten), I think it's time to admit that his time has passed. EVERY comedian has a shelf life, if they're truly one of the greats the shelf life can extend for decades, but I feel like a comeback of Chappelle is a terrible idea. Just relish in his old, amazing work and move on to the next hot thing.

Yes — please spread this completely wrongheaded attitude everywhere. Tell your friends this, shout it from the rooftops far and wide.

wish I could go to this; always loved his stand up more than I enjoyed the chapelle show. Back when I played WoW I had these mp3 rips of his stand up, and just put them on while I grinded out what ever I was doing.

Very rarely can I hear a joke twice and still laugh, but with his stuff, I could hear it a million times and still enjoy it every time.

If he ever did want to do a new show though, I think Netflix would be the place to do it. I know he had a lot of problems with Comedy Central with creative control and scheduling; Netflix seems a bit more laid back about that sort of thing.
