This is Gawker so it should only take minutes for someone to blame fracking and by extension the GOP.

How did a 5.1 earthquake flip a car over?

Due to some pretty obscure Schwarzenegger-era regulations, all cars in SoCal come equipped with small yet powerful steam pistons built into the passenger-side undercarriage. Unfortunately, the Flash-bangs remained optional — damn Libruls.

Well, 'Noah' opened this weekend, so I'd say God was giving Hollywood his review.

My sister moved to LA about a month ago. In Boston she had been working as the god of lightening and vengeance. Probably a coincidence.

Aww when I first moved to SoCal I lived in Brea for a year. Cute town.

Also, my second earthquake occurred when I was at the eye doctor!! Don't really want someone poking around your EYE when the ground starts shaking.

Yes I hate it when a doctor is putting a scissors or a razor blade right into my eye to cut something when the power goes out.

I'm thinking maybe "delicate arterial surgery" and possibly "putting in contact lens" could outrank tattoos and even the dentist. Also likely to be unhappy: extreme domino enthusiasts, if nearly finished with complex setup.

Several reality stars, TV hosts and other assorted B-listers remain missing as of this morning. (Andy Cohen, originally presumed dead, was found unconscious underneath a pile of naked, oiled-up bears.) Luckily the epicenter was far enough away from James Franco's house that a majority of celebrities that people actually care about were able to escape in their Ferraris...

Nice reference. As long as Tatum Channing doesn't mysteriously pop up in chaps and a gimp mask, I think we'll be alright.

We're planning on moving to San Diego next year.

Should we not move there? Are the earthquakes that frequent that it will make living there hell?

I live in LA. I didn't even feel this one - possibly because I was driving? Not sure. But in the almost 4 years since I moved here, I've only felt like 4 of them. So take that as you will.

But! Fun fact - There are tiny earthquakes all over the world every single day. You can look at a map here: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/ma…

If it was just me id be there in a second but with kids all this stuff becomes a little more worrisome!

Thanks for the input! Always nice to hear from residents!
