Christ, you write like you're selling a product, like you have absolutely no critical sense of the world. You should go off and be a flak. I'll bet you have really strong opinions about your own personal brand.

You write like you're mad on the internet. I'll bet you have really strong opinions about semicolons.

Here is a lesson in creative writing. First rule: do not use semicolons. They are transvestite hermaphrodites representing absolutely nothing. All they do is show you've been to college. (K. Vonnegut)

Definite articles matter: There was, mercifully only ever one of him, thus, Der Fuhrer. You really ought to fix that, after all, one was enough!

"Happy" to see Germans finding new ways to keep Adolf alive.

Even if it means venturing into uncharted territory for Germans - comedy.

Post Adolf, there's the dour East Germany era from which, one would presume, it's pretty hard to mine comedy. But here are two:

      1. (Laugh with it and at it) East German wacky teen beach party flick Hot Summer is a light pop musical modeled on the Frankie & Annette movies, but has a whole layer of extra kitschy fun for it's provenance. It's watchable, while being unintentionally funny.

      2. A recent, really good German comedy is Goodbye Lenin, with the always dishy Daniel Bruhl, which deals with the aftermath of reunification, and is brilliantly funny.

Hegel remarks somewhere that all great world-historic facts and personages appear, so to speak, twice. He forgot to add: the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.

This seems, at least to me, to be the point.

Next up, "Look Who's Black" ( Er Ist Schwarz), in which Hitler reawakens as the mulatto leader of a German hip-hop collective bent on ridding the world of technopop.
