The only crimes in Times Square now are 1) failed terrorist explosives, 2) anti-Semitic Elmos, and 3) a wide array of fashion and nutritional infractions.

I work in Times Square. I hate it. Today is St. Patrick's Day. I hate today.

I used to work in Rockefeller Center - it was even worse!

I, too, used to work at Rock Center. (Fellow entertainment industry servant, are you?) I still say Times Square is worse. Imagine Rockefeller Plaza when the tree is up, but all year round. And this year they had the Super Bowl? Pfft, game over. At least 30 Rock has that Tri Tip Grill place in the Commissary. Times Square has TONS of food but nothing to eat :( unless you walk over the Hell's Kitchen.

Encourage crime tourism, I say. Come to NYC & mug someone on Times Square!

Just like gambling, legalized weed and lax approach to prostitution, Cities will now implement "Crime Tourism" to boost their state budgets...

Go to San Andreas and play GTA in real life!

I knew this was a HamNo post before I even clicked. And I disagree with HamNo: criminal enterprises need to apply to NYC.

I am confused, if HamNo's parents are in town, are they not part of the problem?

Isn't he from Florida? Yet he always writes these irate columns where I guess he gets to pretend how a "real" New Yorker might feel.

      Superficial. Dumb. Cliched.

Embrace Times Square as your tourist coral. The only perk to the Las Vegas Strip is that it keeps tourists sequestered from the rest of the city. And it is a beautiful thing.

Walk to 8th avenue for your porn stores, there's plenty.

Also, I live by the 3 strike rule with tourists who clog the street.

      Strike 1) Excuse me.

      Strike 2) EXCUSE ME!!

Strike 3) *Activates Tourist Plow Mode*

A good friend lived a nightmare for 8 years: her apartment was in Chinatown, her office in Times Square. I don't know how she didn't end up killing someone.

Honestly, I would love living in Chinatown...proximity to lower east side, tons of good food and bars, bball courts and parks abound. Traffic gets horrible, though, but it's Manhattan. Either way, I get what you're saying lol

On paper, Chinatown sounds great for all those reasons. But, good god, the crowds. It's a REALLY crowded part of the city.

Counterproposal: keep Times Square exactly as is so tourists could flock there AND LEAVE THE REST OF THE CITY ALONE
