Is it bad to admit that one has never seen Clueless? Asking for a friend.

My three favorite movies are Clueless, The Wizard of Oz, and Robocop. No one takes me seriously, but these are solid choices, right? Right???

If you watch Robocop with the soundtrack for Clueless it syncs up perfectly.

I got 22 out of 22 on the "How well do you know Clueless" quiz up there so I'm not far behind you.

I love how so many of Buzzfeed's "things you didn't know ..." items are just straight-up wrong.

    Like this one:

    7. When Dee says Josh is going through his “post-adolescent idealistic phase”… She means to say that Josh is acting like a know-it-all.

Um ... no. She means he's showing the idealistic tendencies that are typical of many post-adolescents. The worked "idealistic" doesn't have anything to do with being smug, superior or knowledgable.

What's even worse is that this item provides the following moronic, horribly written Urban Dictionary entry as evidence for the original claim:

I'm not sure if I'm in love with Gawker or just addicted, but glass houses, people. In aggregate, it seems like the lion's share of Gawker Media's content consists of:

    • Clips from Jimmy Fallon's show.
    • Anything Bill Murray says on the record.
    • Anything Girls/Lena Dunham-related.
    • Anything Beyonce-related.

I'm sorry, were these things unclear in "Clueless?" Or are you just presenting them to a new generation.

btw "toe up" means dead, like a dead guy laying on a slab with a toe tag, it doesn't mean from head to toe.

"To' up" generally is short for "tore up." As in someone looks a hot mess, they to' up.

I like to think that in Buzzfeed's offices, there's a big "listicle-o-matic" that works kind of like a Mad Lib:

    [# of items]

[optional adjective: "insane", "weird", "amazing", "mind-blowing"]

    [one of: "things/references/raincoats/reasons"]

[one of: "you missed", "you didn't know", "you'll never see the same way again", "you need to see", "the best", "the ultimate"]

[insert subject here, optional, may be assigned as part of a blanket geographic system like "state" or "city" if pandering to clicks in many locations]

[insert optional modifier: "as a kid", "as an adult", "as a breathing entity"]

    ** ViralNova addition:

[# (pick a number 2/3 from the end) made me (pick one: "cry", "laugh", "die")!]

    ** Upworthy addition:

[list 4 random time markers from a video along with how they made you feel at that exact moment; the last one should be 2/3 from the end, and indicate it is "life-changing"]

You go into work, hit the button, get your list, and have 15 minutes to write it. Next.

Does it really work like that?
