I didn’t think the Observer could further embarrass itself.

    Well.

The only way they could have actually smeared Schneiderman was to endorse him (or perhaps on a bagel? Wait, that'd be schmear. How good are bagels though?).

Anyway, there's a reason the Observer sold for under $10 million. The only good thing they ever gave the world was Candace Bushnell's sex column.

It hasn't tapped the phones of teenage murder victims, so there is that.

I'm actually surprised there is no TRUMP™ magazine.

There is. It's called The New York Observer.

I don't get it. Was this guy a journalist before? Or was he just a scoop-peddler?

I know, I wondered the same thing. There seems to be a lot missing.

Kurson claimed Gifford was a law student. Take it for what it's worth considering the source. Give Gifford credit for one thing: he smelled a rat and ran.

Thanks for that link. The richest (ahem) line of all is Kurson saying, “I can’t control what Mr. Trump says any more than he can control what goes in The Observer.” HA!

It's really a pity what The Observer has turned into since Kushner bought it. It used to be a good read. Now it's the trashy tabloid poor cousin of Town & Country.

Of course Kurson recruited a freelancer from an ice cream shop. He wanted the straight scoop on Schneiderman and went to an expert. Plus, they have free toppings on Fridays.

Bad news: The toppings contain potassium benzoate.

He's one of Schneiderman's aides who deals with the press.

"he was hired straight out of an ice cream shop"

Totally thought this was journalistic insider lingo until I read further. I still rather like to think of it as left over 1930's newsie-speak.

I'm not kidding, here. As a somewhat educated individual, who lived in NYC for some time, and keeps abreast of current events pretty closely: What is the New York Observer? A paper?
