      I would assume its a career move to cool off a bit so we don't get sick of her, she has cranked out 2+ movies a year for the last few years and 3 Hunger Games releases in a short timespan (months apart?) are going to be lots of JL.

      I say good, it doesn't mean she can't do broadway or minor stuff. Maybe she will take the time get her fiscal house in order.

      Or maybe she has an amphetamine addiction and once she comes off the speed she she will literally fall into a coma.

    Um, she's an actor, not a human rights campaigner: doing "American Hustle" wasn't exactly working with Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. She wants to take a break, cool - but don't act like she's in the running for a Nobel Peace Prize for all of her sacrifice (most actors would love to be in the position of working on a film with a then twice-Oscar-nominated director).

      Also she's making crazy paper. Having the luxury of a year off is a privilege not afforded to many.

      I like her, I think she's got massive charisma. But she isn't doing a service to the world, teachers, doctors, care workers, mental health workers.... these people could also do with time off to recover.

    Good. I'm tired of Jezebel telling me she's my "BFF".

    Also - she was too young for the parts she played in American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook. She was good in those roles, but I think if she was 5 years older she could have been great.

      Except she totally does. There were like 3 years between Sasha Fierce & 4. And there were 2 years between her last two albums. Only one of those years was spent touring. It's only now that we're getting the overload.

        ***Fun side story. About a year ago, I saw Weinstein eating lunch at the building I used to work at when I went up to him to ask if I could submit a resume to his company (ballsy, I know). When I saw the assistant the next day to ask him if I could follow up, Weinstein yelled at me in front of the entire cafeteria and told me to stay away from his people. I felt horrible for days (also, I was bat-shit terrified of running into him again, and freaked every time I saw his assistant or other people in the building). Now every time I hear celebrities talk about how amazing he is, or praise him for being such an amazing guy, my gut reaction is as follows:

          If I were in her position, I would have worked my ass off like that too. She's young, can bounce back and can rest w/ the knowledge that she could retire anytime at this point.

            I read a blind item on a celeb gossip website that said a really popular young actress is working her ass off now, because she wants to retire from acting by the time she's 25 so she can settle down and have a family. JLaw was the popular guess.
