As an old school liberal Democrat, no one offends me more than Bill Clinton, because he is smarter than the Bushes or Reagan but signed more destructive legislation than any of them: Commodities Futures Modernization Act 2000; NAFTA 1994; Gramm-Leach-Bliley (undoing Glass Steagall) 1999; Telecommunications act of 1996. These 4 destroyed our open press, housing and manufacturing sectors, and killed the middle class. Then there's the dismantling of welfare (based on the few anecdotes rather than the broad truth). This is what we expected of Reagan and the Bushes, but it's what we got from Clinton. Disgraceful.

That said, the Bushes were even worse (declaring wars for profit, not national security, trumps everything), but no one ever thought that they were anything but tools of big oil.

If you dislike Clinton, you must hate Bamz. The ACA is exactly the program he ran against in the primary (No, individual mandate, includes a public option). Rather than dismantle our domestic spying program, he's expanded it. The single biggest issue of his Presidency has been the economy and on that front, he hasn't done a damn thing other than keep in place the same team of Wall Street insiders Bush put in place. But my guess is you don't believe Bamz is responsible for much of what's gone on during his Presidency. Other Presidents are expected to lead but Obama's cult followers don't think that rule should apply to their guy. Clinton wasn't perfect. No President is. Clinton haters on the left ignore the booming economy, the smart fiscal management and his unwavering commitment to middle class working stiffs. Obama by comparison, has been a disaster for the middle class. We're at the mercy of our corporate overlords and Obama offers nothing but lame platitudes and empty promises. Hate all you want but history will remember Bill Clinton as an effective and successful President. Obama will be remembered primarily for breaking the race barrier and under performing on nearly everything.

The ACA was what we could get, which is fairly similar to what the R's put forward in the 90's, but we both know that was a diversion that they were never going to actually follow. The objection to spying just shows that you've forgotten why people had a problem with Bush's spying, as the whole thing was about Bush ignoring FISC.

Meanwhile, he passed a stimulus, put in new financial regulations, and raised taxes on the 1% back to pre-Reagan levels, so you're just factually wrong.

People hate Carter? I thought he was considered a mediocre president and is now a fairly respected/liked statesman.

      Or history's greatest monster. Whichever.

ya i think so... barack's not allowed to be the president of black people it's too incendiary... it's sad but it's still like black people need a white knight to champion them... the media and like 50% of the population would crucify obama for trying to champion anything for black people. as a white person, i'm sorry about this, black people. it's bullshit.
