Clarification. About 75% of those 38,400,000 Californians live in Southern CA.

And Southern California got about 1/4" of rain over the past week.

Rain in SoCal doesn't actually help drought conditions. It's actually best for most of the precipitation to come in the form of snow, because the snowpack is where most of our water comes from. Rain in LA and San Diego just ends up in the ocean.

Another clarification: don't LA and San Diego get their water from the Colorado River? Gawker mentions the amount of water that fell in Lake Tahoe but I'm fairly sure the Truckee River system provides water to Western Nevada and portions of Northern California, not to SoCal. In fact, back in the 1860s, a private company attempted to divert Lake Tahoe water to San Francisco but Nevada would have none of it. Apparently San Francisco gets its water from the Hetch Hetchy water system in Yosemite. Nevada is suffering from a pretty bad drought, too (my Dad has been stocking up on water because he watches too many prepper shows) but wouldn't SoCal drought issues be more concerned with the availability of water in the Colorado River?

It is about this time that I like to go down to the California Aquaduct and take a good long piss into the water headed for that dry southern California suck hole called Los Angeles.

    Enjoy my golden shower, angelinos!

Even as a Southern California native, I'm not sure I can call that drizzle we received as rain.

Guys, I come to grim realization that this is all my fault.

I hadn't wash my car in over 6 months and after waiting and waiting for it to rain, I got fed up and washed it Friday, and so of course very next day boom, rain and snow.

So I like to formally apologize to my fellow Californians for my selfish actions. I will be having a press conference tomorrow to further express my apologies to the rest of the state while promising to never let my car go dirty for longer than month ever again.

Thank you, and god bless California.

San Francisco received more rain from Thursday through Sunday than it did in all of 2013.

NC has some water we'd like to sell to California.

I might be a little tired of it after 30 days or so. Major pluviophile here.
