    This puritanical hypocrisy needs to stop. (Also not sure how I feel about the Gawker's of the world making it worse but I'll table that for now).

    Tell you what, there should be a rule: anyone who punishes a women for being in a porno — Miss America, Teacher, whatever — that's fine, but they have to allow themselves to be subject to an FBI-style search of their personal hard drive and an NSA-style search of their web history. If they agree to this then, and only then, can they judge anything.

    I feel bad for this girl. She made a bad decision, possibly even a horrible one. Does she really need to be humiliated publicly? I did so much stupid shit in my teens and twenties and there is no record of it anywhere, lucky for me. The internet is amazing but there is such a dark side for kids growing up now.

      I get what you're saying (I cringed when I read Gawker contacted her friends), but as someone that's not much older than her I don't have a lot of sympathy. As cheesy as pageants are, it gave her a platform to do many other things had she chosen. She is even enrolled in college. She had other options if she didn't want to deal with the infamy of being a porn star and a pageant queen. She can't even play the ignorance card since Miss Delaware was in this exact position last year.

    This is asinine. Why bother to strip someone of a first runner up title two years after the fact? The entire raison d'être of a first runner up is to take over the "duties" of the actual winner if she for some reason also loses her crown. But once the next year's Miss is crowned who gives a shit? Does the 2012 Miss Colorado still go to elementary schools and show all of the kids her shiny tiara while giving some bullshit speech about whatever lame issue she has chosen as her platform? Is Miss Wyoming 1984 still visiting junior high schools with her Nancy Regan "Just Say No!" presentation?

      How can beauty pageant contestants LOSE their standing for being in a porn when, in order to get into the pageant in the first place, they are often "asked" to have sex to begin with?
