"The lifestyle that comes with being an actor in a successful TV show isn't something I gravitate towards."

Being called a cunt everywhere you go can't be too much fun either.

I was JUST saying to my coworker that I'm going to relish the moment that somebody slits Joffrey's throat.

It's interesting, because a lot of people think that our attitudes towards celebrity are unhealthy, but as a culture we tend to flip out if a celebrity makes that case. I remember when Fiona Apple made her famous speech at the VMAs. The backlash was so intense. And I watch it now and I can't believe people ripped her so hard for it.

The problem is, if people who aren't famous argue against celebrity worship, they're accused of just being jealous. If people who are famous argue against it, they're accused of being ungrateful. So we end up with nobody being perceived as having the credibility to make that case.

It's all about protecting the institution. It's shutting down the kid who points out the emperor has no clothes before he can go on to prove exactly that because ultimately people want there to be an emperor—the commoners and the emperors need one another.

Someone formerly famous could possibly pull it off; like Joyce DeWitt or Natalie Merchant.

Musical tampons could either be a good thing or a bad thing. Do they sing, like the singing sword, upon removal, or do they play a jaunty little midi tune while going in? Do they chime the hour from your ho-ha like Westminster? Can you change stations? I mean, if you can up the bass-line, it might be quite enjoyable, and make Skrillex more tolerable.

    We need some product research.

Does anyone know if he's anything to Domhnall and Brendan Gleeson?

He's probably not. I'm just curious.

      http://blogs.post-gazette.com/arts-entertain…

Gleeson has gotten to work with many fine actors, including Domhnall Gleeson (no relation)

I feel bad for that guy, because the actor seems perfectly nice and quite bright, but the sight of his face makes me want to smack it so hard because of the character.

      "Bright"? Yes, I'd say so:

(Trinity College Dublin Scholar) Jack Gleeson plays the character of Joffery Baratheon in the popular HBO show, which is based on the epic fantasy novels penned by author George RR Martin. Gleeson received a two subject Moderatorship in Philosophy and World Religions and Theology.

Students who demonstrate exceptional knowledge and understanding of their subjects and are elected annually in various subjects as the result of an examination can become Scholars, while research achievement or scholarship of a high order is the primary qualification for a Fellowship.

So this business is just like politics then: the kind of people you need more of, to evolve and improve the culture and system and their trappings, are exactly the people driven away by them. What a pity.

"Retirement"...hmmmm. Or maybe the odds of turning into an adult actor from a child actor aren't really in his favor.

I think he'll putter away at whatever he wants to, and turn up in things as he grows into roles. Look at Brain May; Rock Star/Academic/Astrophysicist. Young Jack here has a long life ahead of him. I'm sure he'll excel and I hope he's happy.
