      I spent some time working with Operation Safety Net while in grad school in Pittsburgh. These people are truly some of the most humble, kind, and selfless folks I've ever met. And they happen to be humble, kind, selfless folks who will lance a boil on a homeless druggie in the back of an RV and then give her antibiotics, a pair of socks, and a sandwich to leave with (true story, which I unfortunately witnessed). I hope programs like these continue to grow throughout the country, and that people going into medical careers will consider volunteering some of their time to help with these types of causes. This story is a wonderful reminder that selfless, generous people still exist (and that we should all strive to be more like them).
