And, yet, my "more b00bs" complaint remains unaddressed.

As the man said: I'm OK with this. Reddit is mostly crap that I don't have time for or interest in. The good stuff floats to the top and gets skimmed off by other media, and I don't have to see the junk.

Quackenbush has a point. It is POPULAR Science. Perhaps those lengthy articles should be in Unpopular Science instead.

Meanwhile the editors of Not-Popular Science received a complaint that they weren't covering recent results in aether science enough.

      You're thinking of Popular Not-Science.

Not-Popular Science covers nematode research and publishes page after page of raw genomic sequencing data.

Popular Science magazine's name is something of a misnomer. It was never really about real "science" as such, it was more of a do-it-yourself mechanics magazine whose traditional competitors are Popular Mechanics and the now-defunct Mechanix Illustrated. Their core audience is more interested in cars, electronics, DIY home repair and improvement, carpentry, etc. Perhaps the editors aspire to live up to the magazine's title and become like Scientific American, but that's a small niche that's already full, and it will never happen.

ah, the infamous Professor Quackenbush. You know, he was ran out of 4 different towns in 3 counties over? Something about selling some sort of Quantum Eraser that would effectively erase the wave-duality commonly found, which could be applied to a quantum depressant - what ever that is! Fact of the matter is, all it did was turn those who used it into ducks!

The complaint is correct, Popular Science should not have long, overly detailed scientific articles, but short, ultra-summarized and very practical "scientific" ones that are easy to read in the john while at the same time affording the readership the illusion it's not the Scientific People Magazine for the less talented nerds you went to high school with... that it is.
